After 13 years with the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo is moving on. With the blockbuster trade between the Bucks and the Miami Heat, Giannis is headed to South Beach, where he will be forming a fearsome frontcourt partnership with Bam Adebayo.
It was a lengthy trade saga that went on for almost a year. However, it seems Giannis finally got his wish to part ways with Milwaukee at a point where they could get a significant return. He hopes that this does not sever his connection with the city because he will always be connected to Milwaukee.
Giannis Antetokounmpo wants an eventual reunion with the Bucks before he retires
Now that Giannis is off to Miami, it marks the end of an iconic stint with the Bucks. After years of toiling away in mediocrity, the Bucks struck gold by picking Giannis with the 15th overall pick in 2013. Considering 2013 did not have the best class, getting such a premium player at 15 was a godsend.
Antetokounmpo made sure to repay the trust that Milwaukee gave to him by becoming arguably the greatest player in franchise history. It's only him and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who have led this franchise to a championship, so they have arguments for that moniker.

Unlike Kareem, Giannis seems to be prepared to have a reunion with the Bucks later in his career. He points to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Kevin Garnett having one final run in the mid-2010s, and it seems Giannis wants to do the same thing when he is winding down his career.
"That would be awesome if I could go and play and maybe come back. Kevin Garnett did the same thing. I saw this clip of him walking into the arena, and fans gave him a standing ovation, and people to this day love him," Giannis said to former Bucks broadcaster Jim Paschke in one of Giannis' final interviews in Milwaukee.
Through the years, Antetokounmpo and Paschke had many conversations. This is the final one between them during a time when Giannis is a Milwaukee Buck. Now, they have both parted ways with the organization, but it seems they have left with a lot of love for the city and the Bucks.
