Gabby Williams' Game 7 performance in the WNBA Finals will be the stuff of legends.

In fact, one NBA legend -- perhaps the biggest of all -- was sufficiently impressed to reach out to the Golden State Valkyries star.

Per Williams herself, Michael Jordan sent a text to the WNBA Finals MVP after her 30-point masterpiece in Game 7 of the Finals against the Atlanta Dream.

Williams scored 28 of her 30 points in the second half -- which included a go-ahead 30-foot heat-check with 2:18 to go in the game -- as the Valkyries took down the Dream, 68-63.

The win sealed Golden State's first championship, in only its second season of existence. Williams though isn't satisfied.

Revealing her exchange with Jordan -- who won six NBA Finals MVP awards -- Williams said Jordan instructed her to "stay hungry" after a career year that saw near-misses but also included the biggest hit of all.

Williams told me that MJ told her to “stay hungry,” to which she responded “I’ve never been hungrier.”

Williams finished second in the Defensive Player of the Year vote to Atlanta's Angel Reese, and six weeks before the Finals, her France team lost to the Reese and the United States in the FIBA Women's World Cup gold medal game.

But if Williams' performance in Game 7 -- and really, throughout the Finals -- is any indication, she is just getting started, and winning will become as addicting for her as it was for Jordan.
