The Los Angeles Rams are expected to finalize a trade with the Cleveland Browns for edge rusher Myles Garrett.
Though the trade isn't a done deal yet, Garrett is expected to get moved from Cleveland, and it should still be to Los Angeles. According to the initial report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the trade package will include edge rusher Jared Verse and a 2027 first-round pick heading to the Browns.
However, Schefter also just revealed the full trade package for Garrett, and it's safe to say the Rams got a very nice deal.
Full Garrett trade package
Schefter reports that Garrett will get traded to the Rams for Verse, a 2027 Round 1 pick, a 2028 Round 2 pick, and a 2029 Round 3 pick.
"Browns receive: Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 2nd and a 2029 3rd," Schefter said.
Acquiring the best defensive player in football for just one first-round pick is a steal for Los Angeles. Obviously, giving up Verse, a Pro Bowl pass rusher with superstar potential, does hurt, but Garrett is definitely an upgrade for the present as the Rams look to win another Super Bowl in the Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford window.
As for the Browns, the team could've definitely gotten more for the two-time Defensive Player of the Year. Only receiving one first-round pick for Garrett feels like a letdown for Cleveland, though Verse will immediately step in as a franchise cornerstone.
Browns General Manager Andrew Berry did say that nothing is official just yet when it comes to Garrett getting traded, so there could still be an opportunity for Cleveland to squeeze out some extra draft capital from Los Angeles before the trade heads to the league office to be finalized.
