The second Grand Slam of the 2025 tennis season is here.
After a week of qualifying matches, the Roland Garros 2025 main draw is set and will kick off on Sunday. For the American fans, all eyes will be on Coco Gauff, who is fresh off an impressive streak on European clay, as she reached back-to-back finals in Madrid and Rome.
Iga Swiatek, who has won four of the last five French Opens, has left the door slightly open this time. Having served a doping suspension at the end of 2024, the Pole is yet to hit her stride. She hasn't even been able to gather momentum on her favorite surface, clay, and dropped to World No 5, her lowest ranking since 2022 this week.
Gauff is one of the in-form players going into Roland Garros, along with World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka, 2024 Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng and teen sensation Mirra Andreeva.
On the men's side, Carlos Alcaraz is the reigning French Open champion comes into the tournament on the back of a title win at Rome Masters. Alcaraz toppled his fiercest rival Jannik Sinner in the final on Italian soil to bag his second ATP 1000 title on clay in 2025.
Australian Open champion Sinner will be hoping for a first Roland Garros triumph this year and goes into the tournament as the top seed.
