There is undoubtedly nobody quite like Anthony Edwards, and Fred VanVleet knows it well.
The Minnesota Timberwolves' star shooting guard has been putting out absolute best performances for some time.
However, VanVleet went on a lengthy appreciation for Edwards during his latest interaction with ESPN.
During the conversation, the Rockets' star point guard had a lot to add on the team’s offense. The Rockets are already down 1-3 in the NBA Playoffs Round 1. They are faced with the mighty Golden State Warriors.
However, if there is anything that Houston lacks, it has to be ‘an unguardable guy.’
Someone who can win games in the last five minutes of the game, irrespective of the situation.
VanVleet is really excited about his teammate Jalen Green’s potential, and he recently made an interesting comparison with him.
“I don't know if you can go get another 2 guard with the upside or the talent level. [Anthony Edwards] maybe in Minnesota. I don't know, does Book have more talent than Jalen or is he more skilled and more polished and more experienced and older?” VanVleet told ESPN.
Fred VanVleet says the only shooting guard in the NBA who might have more upside than Jalen Green is Anthony Edwards

“I don't know what Jalen will look like when he's 26, 27, 28 after playoff series. And that's the upside, where it's like potential can get a little intoxicating. He has the talent. There's no reason for him not to reach that level. He's got to go through it; he's got to fail,” he added.
While Green’s shooting still needs some polishing, VanVleet strongly feels that there’s no reason Green can’t shine at an All-Star level in the future. He mentioned how enticing it is to think about the potential that young players hold and the important lessons they learn through ups and downs.
In the playoffs, Green has had a bit of a rollercoaster ride. He dropped 38 points in a win against the Warriors, but he struggled with shooting in the rest of the series
During the rest of the three games, Green only scored a combined 24 points.
Anthony Edwards Wants Everybody To Keep Him Accountable
The Timberwolves are holding the Los Angeles Lakers at an impressive 3-1 lead in the NBA Playoffs Round 1, thanks in large part to Anthony Edwards.
Throughout all the games, he has been there to help the team win at all costs while keeping everybody accountable.
He knows it very well that if he have to compete at the highest level, there’s no letting loose.
“‘If I don’t do something, hold me accountable. I can’t sit here and hold y’all accountable if I don’t hold myself accountable.’ That is something that is huge,” his teammate, Naz Reid, recalled his message to Athlon Sports.
However, this has been very much the Wolves' first approach towards each of the team members. And having made it to the Conference Finals last season, the Minnesota players know what it takes to be there.
