The new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk, kicked off this week’s episode of the red brand to call out some of the biggest names on the roster as potential challengers for his title. The Best in the World has promised to be a fighting champion and thanked the fans all around the globe for their support.
Former WWE Tag Team Champions, The New Day, sent a message to Punk following his title victory. On Xavier Woods’ X handle, the latter shared a video of himself training, calling out the new World Heavyweight Champion to find him if he wanted to face someone worthy.
While Woods sent a message to the new champion, CM Punk didn’t name Woods or Kingston in the list of potential challengers he called out. The former tag team champions undoubtedly deserve to be acknowledged along with some of the biggest names in the business, and could send a message to CM Punk for not naming them.

The New Day could unleash an attack on Punk backstage or inside the ring very soon, to join forces with The Vision and take down the World Heavyweight Champion. Further, with Survivor Series: WarGames on the horizon, the New Day could join forces with the Vision on one side to take on CM Punk and his team inside the unforgiving steel structure.
While it is still not certain if WWE will feature The Vision and their storyline in the WarGames match, the release of the poster for Survivor Series seemingly confirmed the massive match. Fans will now have to wait and see what the company has in store for the story next.
Former WWE writer feels The New Day is ‘stale’
The New Day’s Xavier Woods signed a new deal with the Stamford-based company recently, and fans were elated to see the veteran continue his run in the company. However, a former WWE writer didn’t feel the same way. In a recent edition of the Writing with Russo podcast, the veteran stated that The New Day was old and stale and that it was time for the company to move on.
"It's not Xavier Woods. There's ten Xavier Woods right now in the WWE. My God! I mean, remember when it was the territories and people came in for a certain amount of time? They knew their start date and they knew their end date. My God, bro. People stay on the roster forever. And there's never anything you're gonna do for these people to give them a second life. And not just Xavier Woods, there's ten Xavier Woods in the WWE right now that you can do nothing more with. You've done everything you possibly could with them. They're old, they're stale, and it's time to move on. One of the reasons we're not moving on is we're not creating new stars. That's one of the big reasons we're not moving on. But what in God's name are you going to do to reinvent Xavier Woods at this point?"Time will now tell what the company has in store for the stars next.
