John Cena has three appearances left in his farewell tour after beating Dominik Mysterio to become the new Intercontinental Champion this past Monday on RAW. A former WWE champion made a vow after Cena finally achieved Grand Slam Champion status and more than seven years since their last match.

On his final appearance as an active WWE Superstar in his hometown of Boston, Cena was disrespected by "Dirty" Dominik. It led to an impromptu title match, which saw The GOAT win his first Intercontinental Championship ever.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, The Miz subtly took a shot and congratulated John Cena at the same time. He also promised to win The Last Time Is Now tournament and retire Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event to win his record-tying ninth Intercontinental Title.

"Took ya long enough. You finally did it. Grand Slam Champion, congrats, but here’s the thing. You won the title I made prestigious. Which means when I win this tournament, I’m not just winning gold… I’m restoring legacy. #MizVsCena," The Miz tweeted.

The Miz is set to face Jey Uso on SmackDown this Friday in the first round of The Last Time Is Now tournament. And as per Cagematch, the last time The Miz and John Cena faced each other in a singles match was on the February 12, 2018 edition of RAW.

John Cena down to his last 3 appearances

The legendary career of John Cena is set to end on December 13 at Saturday Night's Main Event in Washington, D.C. Cena will be facing the winner of The Last Time Is Now tournament, with Rusev and Sheamus already making it to the quarterfinals.

In addition to SNME, Cena has two more dates left in his farewell tour. He's set to be on RAW next week at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He's also scheduled to appear at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29 in San Diego, California.

It will be interesting to see if The GOAT is going to wrestle or just make an appearance for both shows before wrestling his final match at SNME.
