A former NXT Tag Team Champion aired his grievances with WWE and paid the price. Luke Menzies, aka Ridge Holland, has confirmed the ongoing rumors of his immediate release from the Stamford-based promotion.

The British wrestler has had a rough couple of months since sustaining a Lisfranc injury, the same one that put AJ Styles out of commission late last year.

But unlike The Phenomenal One, the former Brawling Brutes member wasn't slated for a comeback, as he was informed that his contract wouldn't be renewed when it expires on November 14.

The 37-year-old star didn't take the news well and went off on social media, saying he has been unable to pay his bills and support his family of five. As a result of his actions, Fightful Select reported that WWE has terminated Ridge Holland's deal early for breach of contract.

In an interview with TMZ Inside The Ring, Ridge Holland confirmed that his social media meltdown led to his early departure after being with the company for 7 years. He said he blames no one but himself for his actions.

"The most recent thing was definitely down to my, I think, outburst on Twitter, so I've got to take responsibility for that, like I just needed to vent, and I didn't go about it the right way. And, you know, we all signed a contract. Unfortunately, that contract, there was a termination clause, and I breached that. So that's a responsibility that I have to take. I let my emotions get the best of me, and I just felt that like I had some bad news that day regarding the situation."

The former Rugby league player added that he felt embarrassed and that he let his emotions get the best of him.

"I was embarrassed that I let my emotions get the better of me, and unfortunately, I got my wrist slap for it, and WWE, with the contract we signed, they were well in their rights to do that. So as much as people want to point the finger at WWE, you know, you probably want to point the other three fingers at myself, really, it was just a lapse in judgment, and it's something that I've got to take responsibility for, Unfortunately."

GoFundMe launched for former WWE Superstar Ridge Holland

WWE would still be paying his medical expenses, but the fact that Ridge Holland is out of action for the next six months makes it impossible for him to cover living expenses.

During this difficult time, GoFundMe was launched a few days ago to help the British star.

So far, the likes of Chelsea Green, Omos, Jinder Mahal, and The Young Bucks, to name a few, have made sizeable donations toward Ridge Holland and his family.

The fundraiser campaign aims to raise $60,000, which would help the former Brawling Brutes member before he could get back to work.

We at Sportskeeda Wrestling wish Ridge Holland all the best in his future endeavours!
