NFL players get traded all the time, which is why a lot of players don't allow themselves to get attached to certain teams.
However, in the case of former Philadelphia Eagles star C.J. Gardner Johnson he's clearly still not over the fact that general manager Howie Roseman opted to get rid of the safety despite winning Super Bowl LIX last season.
Gardner Johnson has made a lot of his trade to the Houston Texans, and honestly thrown around lots of wild speculation based on the Eagles' decision, however, during his recent appearance on Ryan Clark's The Pivot podcast the conversation just seemed to keep going.

— YouTuber: Eagle AL (@kb_973) July 15, 2025The veteran secondary star has maintained for months that Philly didn't want him around any longer because of his big ego, and he doubled down on that take when speaking with Clark and Co. on the podcast.
“Scared of a competitor,” Gardner-Johnson answered when asked why the Eagles opted to trade him to Houston. “Simple as that.”
The comments definitely seem delusional though considering the fact that Philadelphia and head coach Nick Sirianni have built all of their success around being competitors and constructed a roster that simply wears down their opponents.
While Gardner Johnson did change his tune on his former team and stated that he hopes the Eagles have more success in the future, it's certainly an odd look for him to still be this bitter after moving to the Texans.
