A former Milwaukee Brewers infielder has signed a contract to play the rest of the 2026 regular season in South Korea with the Korea Baseball Organization's Kiwoom Heroes.

According to Yoo Jee-ho of Yonhap News Agency, the Heroes have agreed to a contract with second baseman and outfielder Keston Hiura.

"The Heroes said Hiura, who can play first base and second base with some experience in the outfield, can generate hard contact with his superb bat speed, and they expect him to provide a much-needed punch in the middle of their lineup," Yoo wrote Monday.

Hiura was a first-round pick of the Brewers in 2017 and spent parts of four seasons with the NL Central club until 2022.

The right-handed hitter launched 19 home runs and finished with a .938 OPS in 84 games during his rookie season.

The 29-year-old signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers during the offseason but had just one hit in 14 at-bats at spring training.

Now, Hiura will look to make the most of his next professional baseball opportunity in South Korea.

Yoo reports that he will arrive to join the Heroes on Wednesday.
