Former Bills' rival calls Josh Allen best quarterback in football

The Buffalo Bills ended the hopes of a perfect season for the Kansas City Chiefs, defeating the two-time defending Super Bowl champions 30-21 to get to 9-2 ahead of their bye week and keep their hopes of earning the No. 1 seed in the AFC very much alive.

Buffalo won off the strength of Josh Allen accounting for over 300 yards from scrimmage, including a 26-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-two with just over two minutes remaining to put the game away in what CBS play-by-play man Jim Nantz called the "play of the year."

Not only did Allen have the play of the year, he may be the player of the year and bring home his first MVP award and be recognized as the best player in football for 2024. Not only do Bills fans see it, but former Bills rivals do, as well.

Former Patriots and Jets offensive lineman, and now ESPN analyst Damien Woody appeared on Get Up Monday morning and proclaimed that Allen is the league's best quarterback.

"Josh Allen's the best quarterback in the league," Woody said. "Right now he's the best quarterback. You know how [we] talk about styles make fights? He can beat you in whatever way you want to play. If you need him to air it out and throw it all over the yard, Josh Allen can do that. If you want him rumbling and tumbling all over the field, guess what? He can do that. And you know the thing he's doing probably the best he's done in his whole career? Take care of the football. He's taking care of the football. Josh Allen puts on his cape when he needs to put on his cape. And going head to head against Patrick Mahomes yesterday in the game of the year, Josh Allen played some of his best ball."

It's hard to argue that Allen hasn't been the best player in football this season. And with the Bills going into the bye and getting several stars back in the near future, this very well could be their year.
