Five-star '26 Louisiana high school long snapper makes in-state commitment

One of the top long snappers in the Class of 2026 is staying within the boundaries of his home state.

Jackson Villaume, a senior at Parkview Baptist in Baton Rouge, La., has decided to go westward on Interstate 10, as he announced his commitment to attend the University of Louisiana in Lafayette.

Villaume made the announcement Wednesday on his X page.

“110% Committed to the University of Louisiana,” Villaume said on his post. “Proud to continue my athletic and academic journey as a CAJUN!!”

He made the announcement just one day after reporting on his page that he received an offer from the Ragin’ Cajuns. It was the second Football Bowl Subdivision offer he received, after having received an offer last month from the University of Tulsa.

Villaume (5-foot-9, 205 pounds) is rated as a five-star long snapper and the No. 9 ranked long snapper in the country by the Kohl’s professional specialist camps website.

In comments posted to the website, Villaume “competed at the 2025 Kohl’s Underclassman Challenge and solidified himself as one of the top prospects in the 2026 class. He was spinning the ball all weekend and finished with the 5th highest overall charting score with an average snap time of .68 seconds.

“Villaume stood out all weekend due to his ability to stay on target but his ball rotation never changed. The future is bright for this young man and I can’t wait to see him reach his full potential.”

As a junior for Parkview Baptist last season, Villaume was named the Eagles’ special teams MVP.
