The Fever and Dream appear to be going in difference directions as we approach the quarter-mile mark of the 2026 WNBA season.
Entering into the year, both sides were expected to compete at the top of the Eastern Conference. That reality remains in grasp eight games in. However, Indiana finds itself in a far more precarious position than it might have hoped for — even despite Caitlin Clark's exploits.
The third-year guard has continued to produce at an All-WNBA rate, leading the league in assists per game while collecting the fourth-highest coring average. And yet, it still hasn't been easy sledding for the Fever, who are sitting at .500 after dropping three in their last four.
For some, that's an indication that the sky is falling in Indianapolis. For others, it's merely the doldrums of a new campaign. Regardless of your stance, it's clear Indiana wants to right the ship in the days and weeks to come.
Stephanie White's side will get its first chance to do so against Atlanta, who sits in first place in the East. Allisha Gray has been a revelation, as has Angel Reese, who is averaging 13.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in her first eight games with the Dream. Atlanta looks every bit like the title favorite it imagined itself to be following its high-profile acquisition of Reese. It will take its glint attack — and world-class defense — to Indianapolis to test its luck against one of the sport's finest-ever spell-binders.
With that, here's what you need to know about Fever vs. Dream, including its score and highlights.
