Lexie Hull is building more than a strong season with the Indiana Fever. The Fever guard and her former Stanford roommate, Sarah Guller, recently revealed that their company, FORTA Cosmetics, rejected a $500,000 investment offer from an unnamed celebrity.
The reason made the decision particularly notable.
In a video posted on the brand’s Instagram account, Hull and Guller described the prospective investor as someone with “very questionable morals.” The pair did not identify the celebrity or offer any clues about the person’s identity.
The lighthearted video showed Hull and Guller eating French fries, but the message behind it was serious. They were willing to walk away from significant funding rather than attach their growing business to someone who did not align with their values.

Hull’s company continues to gain momentum
Hull and Guller launched FORTA as a performance-focused cosmetics company designed for active customers. The company’s first product was the Lock & Go Setting Spray, which is intended to withstand sweat and reduce the need for reapplication during workouts. FORTA later expanded its lineup with a long-lasting lip stain.
The brand was also selected for the 2026 Sephora Accelerate Program, an initiative created to help emerging beauty founders grow their companies. That recognition makes the decision to reject the $500,000 even more interesting. FORTA is still establishing itself, and access to that amount of capital could have accelerated its expansion.
Hull and Guller, however, apparently determined that the identity and reputation of an investor mattered as much as the size of the check. Hull also continues to play an important role for Indiana. The former No. 6 overall pick has averaged 5.3 points and 3.1 rebounds through 39 games this season.
She scored 14 points in the Fever’s 113-90 victory over the Chicago Sky on Sunday, helping Indiana improve to 25-14. Hull did not reveal whether FORTA is considering other offers, but the company’s latest decision established one boundary clearly: Not every investment is worth accepting.
