He knew before any of us did 60

We found this sick frostbitten kitten outside

  • 03

We didn't know what to do so we brought her into our garage for warmth

  • It always starts with, “They can stay in the garage (or bathroom) for a few days while we figure things out”. But you always start to get attached (at least, we do). Then, once the vet clears them for meeting other cats, you start the introductions… and if it goes well, your decision is pretty much already made for you. What's one more cat, right? One more can't be that bad, you already have everything you need to care for it. So it's not that big of a deal, right? Okay, fine, they can stay!

VEED PREVENTER! BLACK YEAR! We were reaching out to rescues to take her

We let them finally see each other after a few weeks

My cat Raphael figured out twice that I’d got a another cat in my room, and both times he managed to bust open the door (to my absolute horror and shock) and ran on in before I could catch him, he sniffed them, gave them a quick head lick and that was that, they were his new besties and he refused to leave them. Unfortunately we lost one of his besties, chaos but we still have mad max. The best part is mad max was never supposed to be mine, he belonged to my best friend who had to live with us for a while and urm, Raphael just kinda stole him - my poor best friend sobbed her little heart out when she moved out because she loved max but couldn’t bare to separate him from Raphael as they’d bonded. Don’t worry though she still sees him and gets all the updates on his adventures and mischief. And she has two beautiful cats keeping her, her fiancé and her children on their toes! / this_ginger_loves_books

Most orange cats are male. If you have a female, that’s pretty special. About 10% are girls. /

She seemed to really come out of her shell around him

  • 09

And obviously we realized we couldn't let her go

  • 10

We never intended to keep her more than a few days

  • 11

But when we saw the way they made each other so happy and safe we had no other choice

  • The thing a pawrent wants most is for the cattos to be happy. What's one more cat for many more years of happiness? Nothing. The answer is nothing.
