During a recent appearance on the It’s Giving podcast, the former NFL MVP spoke candidly about dating, family dynamics, and how he views long-term partnerships. When asked directly whether a woman’s “value” changes depending on how many children she has, Newton didn’t hesitate.

“I just think that the reality to that answer is women’s value get lower the more children that they have,” Newton said.

The 2015 MVP, who has nine children with three different women, framed his perspective around his own experiences. He referenced a conversation with one of the mothers of his children, explaining how he approached her situation when they were together.

“I was telling her… the guy that you’re dating or will date ain’t willing to love on these five children that you have, that ain’t the guy for you,” he said. “Because when I came into your life, I was willing to accept you and whatever you had.”

Newton added that not everyone shares that mindset, noting that some men may separate their interest in a woman from her children. “There are guys that’s out there that’s just going to say, ‘Them ain’t my kids, I want you,’” he said.

The conversation was part of a broader discussion about relationships and marriage, with Newton and host Sarah Fontenot exchanging views on whether happiness requires a traditional family structure.

Off the field, Newton’s personal life has remained in the public eye. He shares four children with ex-fiancée Kia Proctor and has helped raise her older daughter. He also has children with photographer LaReina Shaw and recently welcomed a son with comedian Jasmin Brown, following the birth of their daughter in 2024.
