Over the past couple of seasons, fantasy players have shifted their focus to the wide receiver position. This is largely due to the growth and popularity of PPR scoring formats.
However, beyond the top wide receivers, running backs are once again the main focus in early rounds, even in point-per-reception leagues, with players like Jahmyr Gibbs, Bijan Robinson and Christian McCaffrey who often catch passes.
You don't need anyone to tell you to draft Ja'Marr Chase or Puka Nacua, but let's say you start with a double-RB, a very popular strategy this season. Which mid- to late-round receivers can step into WR1 territory?
Check out our Top 100 wide receiver rankings and get advice on how to approach the position in your upcoming fantasy drafts.

Best wide receivers for 2026 drafts
- Ja'Marr Chase
- Puka Nacua
- Amon-Ra St. Brown
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba
- CeeDee Lamb
These elite wide receivers deliver high target volume, explosive yards after catch, excellent red-zone usage and consistent weekly performance, making them key contributors to your fantasy football team.
These five are in a tier of their own.
Wide receiver breakouts for 2026
- Emeka Egbuka
- Ladd McConkey
- Luther Burden III
- Carnell Tate
- Christian Watson
There is a huge chunk of wide receivers in rounds 3 and 4 that are nearly indistinguishable. You could truly make a case for any of them as an addition to your team.
The five receivers listed above all have an exceptional amount of hype heading into the season, but another thing they have in common is that they have not finished as a top-12 wide receiver in fantasy football.
Each of them has a case for why they could break into the top 12 this season; take your pick.
Top wide receiver sleepers for 2026
- De'Zhaun Stribling
- Ryan Flournoy
- Omar Cooper Jr.
- Denzel Boston
- Rashid Shaheed
Although the term "sleeper" is often overused in fantasy football, there remains significant value in selecting a late-round dart throw that could deliver useful weeks.
None of the players listed above will become an every-week start, but if things break the right way for them, there will be weeks when they'll have big game potential.
If we had to plant a flag on one, it would easily be De'Zhaun Stribling. Surrounded by one of the most injury-riddled teams in the NFL, Stribling could find himself as the top target by the end of the season if the San Francisco 49ers' bad luck continues.
