The sweetie little kitty was hanging onto dear life underneath that couch on a little wooden beam. She didn't make a peep. Not a hiss, meow, or anything. She seemed to afraid to even move.
The family was shocked, but immediately started trying to get her out. They called emergency and non-emergency hotlines and no one could help. So, they ended up spending four hours trying to get this baby out.
Once they got to her, it was easy to get her home because she was a total sweetie. She allowed them to pick her up, put her in a carry, and didn't fight back at all.
It's almost like this cat knew she messed up. The mom did remove her from the couch before they got there, but she had snuck out and returned anyway.
Curiosity of the cat, right?!
"Here's pretty much like a story time of what happened. We got the couch on Facebook Marketplace. Yes, the cat was alive. The lady, when we got the couch, was joking with us, [at least] we thought she was joking. She said, ‘oh, be careful, my cat might be inside of there.’ And we're just like, hahaha,
giggle, giggle. Cause like, what do you mean?…
So we take the couch home, put it together, and as we're putting it together, our friend thought he'd felt a lump in the couch. But this is a recliner sectional, so that's why there's like hydraulics in the couch, it's because it's a recliner. So, he was like, 'guys, there's a lump…' Like, it's not a big deal.
Like, it's probably just part of the couch. So we're joking around, whatever.
And so we put the couch together. There are no sounds. I have two cats and dogs [and] no one suspected anything. Crazy. So we're sitting on this couch for about an hour when we get a text from the lady and she's like, ‘did you happen to find a gray cat?’
We're like, ‘what do you mean a gray cat?’ And so she explained to us that her cat liked to hide in there and that she grabbed her before we came to get the couch. But the cat obviously went back inside of the couch. And so I took my husband's phone and I recorded a video. That's when we found the cat.
She did not make a noise, she didn't meow, she didn't hiss, she didn't try scratching me, nothing.
She was literally just like, there. Like, we thought she was de*d, but she was looking, moving; she was very much alive.
So we spent four hours trying to get this cat out of the couch. We called animal control and they said they couldn't do anything because it wasn't wildlife and they only do wildlife, they don't do domestic.
We called the non-emergency, they told us that there's nothing they could do. We called the fire department, there was nothing they could do. So like, okay, looks like we're gonna be the one trying to get this cat out.
And I didn't want her to come out on her own cause I don't want my other animals to try to attack her. So I put food out for her. I made toy noises. She didn't care for either. We had to cut the bottom of the couch to get her out.
We finally did get her out and we did bring her home. I wouldn't keep someone else's cat. I thought, if was my cat, I would want someone to return my cat. So we brought her home, and that was pretty much it.
We didn't get a reward or anything, but it's a funny story… And that's pretty much it. The cat is fine, she wasn't hurt, and I have a couch now with no animal in it."
