The Atlanta Falcons are entering a new era this offseason.
The team brought in Kevin Stefanski to be the new head coach, and the hope is that Stefanski will help the team return to the playoffs for the first time since 2017. However, the coach will likely need to upgrade the offense a little bit more to make that happen.
So far this offseason, the Falcons have added wide receivers Jahan Dotson and Olamide Zaccheaus, tight end Austin Hooper, and running back Brian Robinson Jr. However, you probably don't want to go into the season with Dotson and Zaccheaus as your No. 2 and No. 3 receiver.
As a result, Ralph Vacchiano of FOX Sports thinks the team should trade for a player Stefanski is very familiar with- wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.
Jeudy spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons with Stefanski in Cleveland, and could be a perfect complement to Drake London in Atlanta. Regarding this possibility, Vacchiano offered the following:
New Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski knows the ups and downs of the 27-year-old Jeudy, and he knows he needs a No. 2 receiver (currently either Jahan Dotson or Olamide Zaccheaus will fill that role). Jeudy had a terrible season last year, but in 2024 he caught 90 passes for 1,229 yards with Jameis Winston, Deshaun Watson, Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Bailey Zappe throwing him the ball. He’d be a huge help for No. 1 WR Drake London with Tua Tagovailoa and/or Michael Penix Jr. behind center.
As Vacchiano mentioned, the Falcons need a WR2 so why not go for a guy Stefanski already knows?
Jeudy had a bad 2025 season, but the Browns' offense in general struggled. Jeudy collected over 1,200 yards in 2024, though, and earned his first-and-only Pro Bowl appearance. Jeudy has had at least 800 yards in three of his six NFL seasons.
Regarding compensation, Vacchiano believes a 2026 second-round pick could get the deal done. That may seem like a hefty price, but Jeudy is under contract for two more seasons and it's unlikely that a second-round receiver would immediately be better than the veteran is.
No matter who is playing quarterback. Michael Penix Jr. or Tua Tagovailoa, the Falcons need more weapons. A pass-catching trio of London, Jeudy, and Kyle Pitts would definitely be an improvement over what the team fielded in 2025.
