Sophie Cunningham’s friend and podcast co-host, West Wilson, expressed his frustration with U.S. President Donald Trump following his post on Rob Reiner and his wife’s death. Reiner, 78, and his wife, 68, were found stabbed to death at their home in Los Angeles on Sunday, Dec. 14.

While many have been mourning the loss and brutal murder of the couple, Trump adopted a different tone.

He called the incident a “very sad thing,” but also mocked the dead, calling Reiner a victim of “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” a term he often uses to describe his critics. He also alleged that Reiner drove people “crazy” with his “Trump obsession.”

Trump’s comments have gone viral on social media, sparking widespread criticism of the president. Wilson also let his thoughts be known on Instagram.

“I’m so f***ing tired of this douche bag,” Wilson wrote.

While Wilson has publicly called out Donald Trump on many occasions in the past, his podcast co-host, Sophie Cunningham, has yet to comment on the situation.

Sophie Cunningham has had a massive offseason, signing with Project B, a new women’s basketball league, offering up to $2 million in salary. She enjoyed a surge of fame last season after joining Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever.

Cunningham averaged 8.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last season. Her increased following also helped her land brand deals, and her “Show me Something” podcast with West Wilson.

She is expected to re-sign with the Fever in 2026, considering the WNBA and WNBPA can reach an agreement on a new CBA. Cunningham will then join Project B for the league’s debut in November 2026.

Donald Trump doubles down on Rob Reiner comments despite criticism

Despite the criticism from Sophie Cunningham’s friend, West Wilson, and a band of people on social media, U.S. President Donald Trump remains unbothered and doubled down on his views while answering reporters in the Oval Office:

"I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all, in any way, shape or form," he said.

A few Republican officials, including Thomas Massie, have also called out Trump for his social media post on Reiner’s death.
