Former WWE star Braun Strowman has revealed that there was jealousy in the WWE locker room upon his arrival to the main roster. The Monster Among Men had a short run in NXT before being called up to join The Wyatt Family in 2015.

Strowman was immediately pushed as a major threat and had the most eliminations in the 2016 Royal Rumble match. However, his sudden rise to fame and the push he received didn't sit well with some people backstage. Given that he had little to no prior in-ring experience, there was a lot of jealousy in the locker room.

During an appearance on Something's Burning, the former Universal Champion said that he virtually skipped NXT, having wrestled one dark match and three house shows with the brand.

"I did one dark match in NXT, then I did three house shows with NXT so I like to joke around, we always said it was the Bullet Club, but The Club, Gallows, Anderson, and AJ Styles when they came in, we're the only four that skipped NXT," he said.

Braun Strowman said since he wasn't born into the business or worked his way up the independents, he was viewed as an outsider who wasn't liked.

"So, we skipped NXT and kind of went straight to the main roster, which is like really wild for me because, like I said, coming in, not born into the business, didn't come through the indie. So, I was an outsider. I was hated. Everyone was like, "F*ck this big guy." And all this sh*t. There was the 'he didn’t pay his dues’ thing," he added.

Strowman mentioned that while many people didn't see his grind, his road to WWE wasn't easy. He recalled sleeping in his car and then working his way to become North America’s Strongest Man in 2011.

Braun Strowman won the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36

During his WWE tenure, Braun Strowman impressed fans with his feats of strength and had notable feuds with the likes of Roman Reigns and Big Show.

The pinnacle of his run in the promotion came when he beat Goldberg at WrestleMania 36 to win the Universal Championship, marking his first singles World Title win in the company.

Apart from this, Braun Strowman also won the Tag Team Championship twice and is a former Intercontinental champion.
