Expect Mets to send off Clay Holmes at MLB trade deadline

The Mets and Clay Holmes aren’t engaged in contract negotiations, so he’ll almost surely go in trade.

He’s looked fine in his rehab starts, which nearly every contender attended.

Holmes, a two-time All-Star, and Luke Weaver should bring the biggest return for the Mets.

Weaver would be a great fit for the Pirates, who could use him to close.
