Exclusive: RICK AND MORTY – THE END to feature “blind bag-less” variants

4 hours ago 2

This December spells the end for infamous duo Rick and Morty, and Oni Press has announced “randomized blind bag-less” variant covers to celebrate the occasion.

Rick and Morty: The End #1, written by Daniel Kibblesmith and drawn by Jarrett Williams, spins directly out of Rick and Morty Vs. The Universe #1. Its “randomized blind bag-less” variants are traditionally known as randomized “intermix” covers, but given that this event marks 10 years and over 100 issues of Rick and Morty, Oni is coining a new descriptor.

Basically, these variants offer all the fun of blind bag variants without the plastic waste or the potential of bending a brand new comic trying to get the bag open. It’s a win for the environment and the reader.

Today, The Beat can reveal these intermix variants, each one featuring a Rick and Morty cover from issues past.

Rick and Morty: The End #1 catches up with Rick Sanchez as he’s on the run from, well, everyone. Here’s the synopsis:

With a bounty on his head, every government, military, pirate, mobster, bounty hunter, bail bondsman, religious institution, theater troupe, circus clown, and endangered species is on the hunt to bring in Rick – DEAD OR ALIVE. The only one who can bring Rick in warm is the one person who knows him best: Morty Smith. But Morty’s not the only Smith hot on Rick’s trail . . . “Space Beth” Smith is determined to bring Rick in, and she doesn’t particularly care how. Now it’s just a question of who can get to him first…!
