Filipino-American comedian Andrew Orolfo, a JFL New Face 2022 and staple of the San Francisco stand-up scene, is headlining a new kind of venue: the virtual reality Soapstone Comedy Club found exclusively in Meta Horizons. The Beat can reveal an exclusive clip from Orolfo’s VR performance from the comedy series Soapstone Comedy Presents, which features Orolfo as an avatar version of himself—which is very different from his past appearances on Comedy Central, Netflix, and more.
Check out the clip below.
Orolfo’s episode of Soapstone Comedy Presents will debut on Thursday, July 17 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT. Meta Quest headset owners can subscribe to the series here or by visiting the series online or via the Meta Horizon mobile app.
Created by Aaron Sorrels, the Soapstone Comedy Club is inspired by Hanalei Bay on the island of Kauai in Hawai’i and offers a VR view of the New York City skyline. Since its debut, the space has hosted more than 2 thousand events for a global audience who were all able to take part without leaving the comfort of their homes.
