T.Y. Hilton is officially done with the NFL.
The former Colts receiver announced Wednesday he’s retiring — some three years after he played in his last game.
“After an incredible journey,” Hilton wrote in an emotional statement on his X page, “it’s time for me to retire from the game of football and begin a new chapter.”
The four-time Pro Bowler, who suited up for Indianapolis and Dallas in his 11-year career, thanked Jim Irsay and the Colts, as well as the Cowboys’ organization, in his announcement, before he turned his attention to fans and ex-locker room mates.
“To my teammates — thank you for the brotherhood,” he said. “The early mornings, long practices, and the battles on Sundays are memories I’ll carry with me forever.
“To the fans in Indy, your support meant everything to me from day one. I’ll never forget running out of that tunnel at Lucas Oil Stadium for the first time.
“And at the heart of it all, I want to thank my family and friends. Thank you for the sacrifices, the constant support and for believing in me. I would not have been able to live out this dream without you.”
Hilton was taken by the Colts in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, 91 picks after the team selected Andrew Luck No. 1 overall.
The two rookies had immediate chemistry, with Hilton finishing his first season in Indy with 50 catches for 861 yards and seven touchdowns.
Hilton went on to make four Pro Bowls with the Colts in 10 seasons.
In 2022, he joined the Cowboys for three games and helped lead them to the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
His last-ever NFL snap came during that postseason loss to the Niners.
Hilton finished his retirement announcement Wednesday with three words: “Forever a Colt.”
