Former NFL player Kevin Ware Jr. has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for brutally murdering his girlfriend and then setting fire to her corpse.

Ware, 41, a former tight end for the Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers, reached a deal on Wednesday with the prosecution in exchange for pleading guilty to the 2021 murder of his 29-year-old girlfriend Taylor Pomanski.

Pomanski disappeared under suspicious circumstances after she was last seen at a party at her home in Houston, Texas, on April 25, 2021, NBC Houston reported.

He was indicted for murder and tampering with a corpse in connection with Pomanski’s death on July 28, 2021.
