Ex-Browns QB explains Shedeur Sanders' crazy NFL Draft free fall to pick No. 144

What feels like forever ago, the Cleveland Browns once picked Brady Quinn No. 22 overall out of Notre Dame.

He doesn't exactly know what an NFL Draft slide feels like.

But on Tuesday, he weighed in on the Shedeur Sanders slide to the draft's fifth round. It was almost impossible to believe for some as it was happening, none louder than ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr.

Quinn had a different take.

"From the guys I talked to that are part of an NFL team or in a front office, the interview process was an absolute disaster," Quinn told ESPN Cleveland.

Quinn isn't the only one to suggest that.

A report from CBS Sports says Sanders intentionally tanked some of his NFL Combine interviews.

Unless Sanders or some front office personnel start talking, we'll never really know.

Sanders was in the building Tuesday, working to build himself up to be a pro-level player.

He could win the starting job. He could finish fourth in the competition, or anywhere in between.

But it seems like the chatter about his interviews isn't going away.

If Sanders could go back and have a strong NFL Draft weekend, that'd probably work out better in the big picture.

But he's found his destination now, regardless of timing, and it's time for him to go finish the work.
