I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a professional photographer, but I’ve always loved capturing moments. My skill level usually peaks when I take endless pictures of my Mini Sheepadoodle and post them on social media. While I’ve dabbled in editing, most pro tools felt like trying to pilot a spacecraft, and in case you’re wondering, I can’t do that either.

My Review
As a non-pro, many technical elements of photography are lost on me. Traditional software usually requires years of mastering layers and frequency separation, but Evoto allowed me to achieve a pro-like look through simple, intuitive sliders.
In order to download this to your device, you need at least 8GB RAM (16GB+ recommended), Windows 10/11 (64-bit), or macOS 10.13+.
Simply download from the Evoto website, create a project, and drag in your RAW or JPEG files. The right-hand sidebar contains all the “Magic Sliders” labeled by their actual function.
Once my photos were in, I moved to the AI Culling phase. If you have a lot of images (like I do with my dog), this speeds up the process immensely. Instead of spending hours squinting at similar shots to see where my eyes were closed or the focus was soft, I let the AI search for me. In about ten minutes, it could sort through thousands of photos, flagging the duds so I could just pick the top few suggested.
The retouching step was actually fun. If you’ve ever owned leather anything, you’ll know that wrinkles are nearly impossible to get out in real life. When the Clothing & Accessories Adjustments popped up, I was all in. It was incredibly easy to use the “De-blemish Clothing” feature to polish up the leather on my favorite coat; the results were pristine. I even played with the hair color tool to turn my hair pink, a great way to test a new look before committing to it at the salon.
Compared to Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop, Evoto is slightly easier to navigate with a system that feels intuitive, built on common sense. While Lightroom is better for organizing a lifetime of photos according to some users, Evoto wins on pure retouching speed and ease of use.

Emma Sutton-WilliamsIs it Worth It? The Verdict is In
If you do this for a living, Evoto will save you not only time but money by moving batches out the door faster. For a freelancer, the ability to offer Same-Day Edits via the Evoto Instant feature is a favorite of mine. Even for a casual user, the sheer joy of fixing a ruined photo with a single slider makes it worth the download. It turns the grueling part of photography into a coffee-break task.
How I Tested
I tested Evoto 6.2 on a 2026-spec desktop, processing a batch of photos consisting of high-resolution pet photography and fashion portraits. I focused specifically on AI Culling speed and on adjusting tools to sharpen images.
