Asante Samuel isn’t a huge fan of Ryan Clark. The former NFL safety and current analyst recently blasted Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry for his involvement in the firing of former LSU head coach Brian Kelly and the hiring process for his successor.
The Governor insisted that Landry would form a committee to make the hiring decisions, with members of that committee being hired by the Governor himself. Clark called this move ridiculous and was none too pleased.
“This is the second dumb thing he’s said this week… Scott Woodward, for whatever he is, is a man who got Jay Johnson,” said Clark.•

Former NFL nose tackle Breiden Fehoko called out Clark online for allegedly being a click chaser. Samuel responded to his tweet, saying:

“Everybody hates Ryan Clark.”The issues between Fehoko and Clark seem to stem from an interview Fehoko did with WAFB’s Jacques Doucet earlier this week. The former nose tackle called out Clark for locker room drama at LSU in 2020, saying he hurt the team more than helped it. Fehoko’s comments seemed to shed some light on how even championship rosters can fracture in the locker room.
Samuel and Clark have a history
Asante Samuel seems to have a history of drama with Ryan Clark.
Previously, Clark had Deion Sanders' legacy as an NFL player, saying:
“Deion Sanders is the best cornerback that’s ever played.”Things got personal when Samuel’s name was mentioned. Clark said the former two-time NFL interceptions leader essentially was good but couldn’t hold a candle to Sanders. This did not go over well with Samuel.
Samuel has also previously called out Clark as being a hater, with the analyst often posting blunt opinions about NFL players. Earlier this year, Samuel called Clark a fool for a controversial take on Aaron Rodgers.
Samuel is a four-time Pro Bowler who captured two Super Bowl titles during his NFL career. Clark made it to one Pro Bowl during his professional career and won a Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2009.
There have been numerous people criticizing Clark for his controversial takes throughout his career as an analyst, and Samuel is among the many who have called him out.
Clark played at LSU from 1997 to 2001, going undrafted following his time in college. In addition to his time as an analyst on ESPN, he hosts The Pivot Podcast, discussing hot topics in the NFL.
