Jordan Pickford is set to sign a new contract at Everton before the weekend's clash against Manchester City, according to the Times.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper joined the Toffees from Sunderland in June 2017 for an initial £25m [$33m] rising to £30m [$40m] with add-ons.

David Moyes and The Friedkin Group have made securing their defensive core a top priority this season at Goodison Park with James Tarkowski extending his deal last week while Jarrad Branthwaite already committing his future during the summer transfer window to the club.

When Pickford sign a new contract, it could stretch his Merseyside career to an impressive 12 years.

The England international recently made his 300th Premier League appearance for Everton in the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
