The San Antonio Spurs are aiming to bounce back from a 13th-place finish in the Western Conference in the 2024-25 campaign, and they'll do so with a growing Victor Wembanyama leading the way.

Wembanyama missed the team's last 30 regular-season games in 2024-25 due to a blood clot in his right shoulder. However, he's at full strength ahead of the Spurs’ regular-season opener against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Not only is the big man fully healthy, but he's also reportedly growing. Wembanyama is currently listed at 7-foot-4 on the Spurs’ official roster, though many have their doubts.

Boban Marjanovic speculates Victor Wembanyama's real height

In Tuesday's episode of NBA Today, ex-NBA center Boban Marjanovic, who stands at 7-foot-4, questioned the French big man's listed height.

“I'm 7’4”, and I was looking up at him like… no way I'm taller than him.”

NBA insider Brian Windhorst also commented on Wembanyama's height, backing up Marjanovic's point.

“I think he might be approaching 7’7”, unofficially.”

Regardless of an added inch or two, Wembanyama is a nightmare for opposing teams. The 21-year-old is widely considered the best shot-blocking big man in the league, while also being able to stretch the floor on offense.

Listed as 7-foot-3 as a rookie, Wembanyama continues to grow in height and in his game. While he appeared in only 46 regular-season outings in 2024-25, he averaged a whopping 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.8 blocks, 3.7 assists and 1.1 steals per contest.

Now, he'll look to lead the Spurs on a deep playoff run alongside De’Aaron Fox and reigning Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle.
