There may have been no player more linked to the New York Yankees leading into the MLB trade deadline than Eugenio Suarez.
The Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman is an All Star, and at his media availability before the game in Atlanta, Suarez was asked about the Yankees.
He had positive things to say.
"It's a team that wants to win," Suarez told reporters. "They're hungry still. If I got over there, I would do my best and try to help them win the World Series."
Suarez enters the All-Star break with 31 homers and a .250 average for Arizona. He has 307 career homers.
He'll turn 33 years old on Friday, and is making his second All-Star appearance.

New York hasn't solved its third-base problem all season. Suarez is the obvious solution.
And it sounds like he'd be happy to put on the pinstripes and come to the Bronx.
He'd sure look good in the middle of the Yankees' lineup.
The Diamondbacks are expected to be sellers. New York should be on the phone as soon as possible, seeing what prospect or two it would take to get a deal done.
Since Suarez is on an expiring contract, his trade cost won't be that much. And it certainly wouldn't be an overpay if he did indeed help the Yankees to the World Series.
