ESPN NFL insider hints at massive quarterback trade coming for Cleveland Browns

4 hours ago 1

The Cleveland Browns have an abundance of quarterbacks, all of whom were not on the team a season ago. Kenny Pickett was acquired via trade in March and Joe Flacco was signed not long after. The Browns then drafted Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders to give them, frankly, too many quarterbacks ahead of the season.

Because of this, speculation has been heavy that the Browns would be looking to trade one of their quarterbacks. ESPN NFL analyst and insider Peter Schrager believes that it will be one of Flacco or Pickett that won't be on the team in 2025, whether it be by being released or getting traded.

"I would be surprised, personally, if both of those veteran quarterbacks are on the roster Week 1," Schrager said on The Pat McAfee Show.

Should the Browns look to move one of the veterans, the most likely candidate would be Pickett. He's much younger, and there would be some hefty fan backlash if the Browns brought back fan-favorite Joe Flacco only to either cut or trade him months later before he even took a snap. Don't be surprised if you continue to hear about how great Pickett looked in the spring and if more of that propaganda continues at the beginning of training camp to make a trade look more enticing for potential suitors.
