ESPN gives Chiefs easy fit in NFL Draft

The Kansas City Chiefs' offseason has been one where the franchise has hit the soft reset button.

With the franchise parting ways with both corners, Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, to the Los Angeles Rams, it creates an urgent need.

Given the Chiefs have two first-round picks, it is feasible that the franchise will use one on a corner, given that both McDuffie and Watson are out.

But who?

ESPN's Matt Bowen likes the idea of LSU's Mansoor Delane coming to Chiefs Kingdom.

"The Chiefs have some spots to fill at cornerback after trading Trent McDuffie and losing Jaylen Watson to the Rams," Bowen wrote. "So, let's give them Delane, who has the traits to fit in coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's system.

"This is an easy fit for who I think is the top cornerback in the class."

Chiefs to go defense at No. 9?

That feels like the move.

Especially if Delane or Rueben Bain Jr. is still on the board.

Of course, we have seen the Chiefs take Carnell Tate in some mock drafts, giving Patrick Mahomes another receiver, but defense feels like the avenue Kansas City will go down.

Granted, we never know how the draft will unfold, and an offensive lineman might be selected.

So, we wait to see what the Chiefs end up doing, but Delane at No. 9 feels like a home run.
