The Kansas City Chiefs, under the guidance of Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, have made a habit of making at least the AFC Championship game every season since Mahomes was the starter.
That came to an end in 2025, as the Chiefs missed the playoffs and dealt with injuries and horrible form to end the season in a way we haven't seen before.
This has led some to think that the NFL's apex predator is no longer top of the food chain.
But for ESPN's Dan Graziano, in his very early Super Bowl LXI prediction, the NFL's apex predator is back with a bang.
"Chiefs over Packers," Graziano wrote. "One down season and a torn ACL isn't enough to scare me off quarterback Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid. Mahomes recovers, along with the Kansas City offense, and the Chiefs claim their third Super Bowl title in five seasons."

Could Chiefs win Super Bowl in 2026?
Of course, they could; it is the Chiefs, after all.
But we are yet to see how free agency plays out, as we know there is a lot of moving and shaking that takes place.
Still, picking the Chiefs to bounce back is a good one, but how healthy will Mahomes be? And if he doesn't return in Week 1, instead, say, Week 6, will there still be those who think the Chiefs are in Super Bowl contention?
It is a very early prediction, but most of the NFL hopes it doesn't come to fruition.
