After the 2026 offseason, the Miami Heat had immense hype surrounding the team. With Giannis Antetokounmpo, anything is possible, but people are down on the Heat right now because of their slow start to the 2026-27 season.

They have lost their first two games of the season to the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Detroit Pistons. Both are formidable opponents, but the second loss in a row does not have head coach Erik Spoelstra worried just yet.

Erik Spoelstra is unbothered by the two losses to start the Heat's season

It has not been the best stretch for the Heat to start the season because a lot of people expected them to at least win one game from the first two. Unfortunately, they were trounced by both opponents.

Now, Spoelstra is back to the drawing board after a nightmare start to the year. As the head coach, he wants to stabilize the team amid all the struggles they are currently facing.

Of course, it is only two games into an 82-game season, so it is not the time to panic. Spoelstra has those sentiments, but he is looking for the best ways to resolve the problems they had during the first two games.

"We're facing a little bit of adversity to start. No one wanted to start 0-2 with our first two home games. I do know this about our locker room: they care... Giannis really cares. He wants this to work; his teammates really want this to work. We're gonna get there," Spoelstra said after the loss to the Pistons.

As long as the players can channel their frustrations into bouncing back, the Heat will be okay. However, they would have preferred to have a win on the board, but at the moment, they will have to motivate themselves.
