English girlfriend of Argentina star opens up on ‘mixed emotions’ at World Cup

Argentina completed yet another miraculous comeback in the World Cup semifinal against England on Wednesday.

There were plenty of powerful emotions from Argentina and England fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta during the game. But it’s hard to imagine anybody’s emotions were more mixed than those of Kelci Rose-Bowers.

Rose-Bowers is a 22-year-old from England who played college soccer with the LSU Tigers before joining Bournemouth FC’s women’s team as a defender. She’s also dating Argentina defender Marcos Senesi, who was on the bench during the semifinal against England.

Rose-Bowers was in the building for Thursday’s Argentina comeback against her home country and conveyed her mixed feelings about the result in an Instagram post Wednesday.

“Well that just happened… Of course a crazy experience with a lot of mixed emotions, one I won’t forget🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇦🇷 🙏🏻,” according to the post’s caption.

“I am proud of how far England have come and of course my partner for reaching the WC FINAL 😍😍 See you in NYC🔜.”

The post included a collage of photos of Rose-Bowers at the game, including one selfie of her and Senesi afterward. While she’s clearly sitting in the Argentina section, the 22-year-old wasn’t wearing anything that would give away which team she was cheering for, instead sporting a black sweatsuit with white pinstripes.

Perhaps Rose-Bowers will be more overt about who she’s rooting for during Sunday’s World Cup final, as there isn’t any reason to suggest she might favor Spain over Senesi’s Argentina squad.
