Lane Kiffin's future is one of the most talked-about topics in college football. The Ole Miss Rebels head coach has been linked with numerous coaching vacancies over the past few weeks.
Ole Miss legend Eli Manning has noticed the speculation, and he's given a blunt take on the situation. Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Manning said,
"You just hope everything gets settled quickly, everybody being committed to winning that championship."•

Eli Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks in Rebels' history. He played for the program from 2000 to 2023 and amassed a stat line of 10,119 passing yards and 81 touchdowns during his college career.
Manning led the Rebels to a 10-3 record in 2003. However, he couldn't guide them to a national championship. He's now hoping that the noise around Kiffin won't affect his Alma mater's 2025 championship odds.
Lane Kiffin among the most sought-after HC candidates
Lane Kiffin headlines a group of elite coaching candidates in the current hiring cycle. Such big names include but aren't limited to Nick Saban, Jon Gruden, and Ed Orgeron.
Kiffin has been strongly linked to both the LSU Tigers and Florida Gators jobs. Both jobs are vacant after the programs fired Brian Kelly and Bill Napier, respectively, following poor results. Kiffin is the runaway favorite for both roles.
Legendary college football head coach Nick Saban, too, has been linked with the LSU Tigers vacancy. Saban won his first national championship with the Tigers way back in 2003. He remains a highly respected figure at LSU and would become the instant favorite if he decides to come out of retirement.
Jon Gruden and Ed Orgeron are two veteran names that have picked up steam in recent days. Gruden has emerged as a top candidate for the Arkansas Razorbacks job, while Orgeron has thrown his hat into the mix for the LSU gig.
The coaching carousel will become clearer once Lane Kiffin makes his decision. Other coaches, like Kenny Dillingham, Joe Brady, and Ryan Silverfield, are potentially looking for a new landing spot.
