El Grande Americano suffered a major loss on WWE RAW. This happened after his plan backfired.

El Grande Americano is a character who showed up on WWE TV earlier this year. Since then, he has featured regularly on TV. He even won the Speed Championship. Over the past few weeks, he formed a faction called Los Americanos with Rayo and Bravo. They have been instrumental in helping Dominik Mysterio retain his Intercontinental Championship. Last week on RAW, Rusev and Penta competed in a number one contender's match. However, Los Americanos came out and attacked both men, causing the match to end in a no-contest.

Tonight on the WWE RAW, the masked luchador faced off against Penta in a singles match with Rayo and Bravo at ringside. During the match, Bravo was caught trying to help Americano and was ejected from the ringside. While this was happening, Rayo passed the metal plate to the masked star, who placed it in his mask. Moments later, Rayo got himself ejected as well for trying to get involved in the match. El Grande went for a flying headbutt but was stopped by Penta. The former AEW star then hit the Mexican Destroyer on El Grande for the win.

El Grande Americano could get an even bigger push moving forward

Ever since his arrival earlier this year, El Grande Americano has gotten over with the fans. Therefore, WWE has featured him consistently and has even put the Speed Title on him. However, it looks like he might get an even bigger push moving forward.

Speaking on WrestleVotes Radio on WrestleBinge, JoeyVotes and TC reported that WWE is in talks with a major food and beverage brand that will reportedly feature the promotion of Americano. Hence, the masked star could reportedly get featured more heavily on television.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the masked luchador.
