The Bills had a last-second change to their lineup on Thursday after Ed Oliver suffered a hip injury in warmups.

Buffalo announced that the standout defensive tackle would miss its Week 2 matchup against the Lions shortly before 7 p.m., a little more than an hour before kickoff for the “Thursday Night Football” game.

It wasn’t immediately clear how he had injured his hip during pregame warmups, and he had not been listed on the Bills’ injury report in the lead-up to the game.

Oliver is coming off a week in which he took 80 percent of the snaps when the Bills faced the Texans in the Week 1 season opener.

He had five tackles and had a fumble recovery against the Texans in that game.

Oliver has registered 30 sacks for Buffalo since the franchise drafted him ninth overall in 2019.

During the offseason, Oliver, 28, revealed that he was mourning the tragic loss of his 2-year-old son.

“On behalf of the entire Buffalo Bills organization, we want to publicly express our condolences to Ed Oliver and his family on the devastating loss of his son,” Bills general manager Brandon Beane said in a statement.

“It’s an unthinkable tragedy for any parent. We will continue to support Ed and his family as we all grieve this tragic loss.”

The death of Oliver’s son was ruled accidental, with the lineman finding him unresponsive in their pool.
