Eagles WR bids farewell to Philadelphia after playoff loss

1 hour ago 2

The Philadelphia Eagles' season ended abruptly on Sunday without a chance to defend their Super Bowl.

They now head into an offseason of change, with free agent, trade and coaching rumors all already beginning to brew.

One of those pending free agents is wide receiver Jahan Dotson.

Dotson was the Eagles' third-most-used WR, behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

At Monday's locker cleanout day, Dotson was asked about his future by reporter Johnny McGonigal.

“It’s tough because I know this is probably my last day here," Dotson said. "It was fun. I learned a lot while I was here. Truly a remarkable two years.”

Well, that doesn't sound like someone who will be back.

Dotson is still just 25 years old. He was a first-round pick (16th overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders out of Penn State.

He was traded to the Eagles before the 2024 season, and he got to win a Super Bowl in his first season with Philly.

In his two Commanders seasons, Dotson combined for 84 catches for 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns.

In two seasons with the Eagles, Dotson totaled 37 grabs for 478 yards and a single TD. He split it almost evenly, with 19-216 in 2024 and 18-262 in 2025.

The Eagles started to play youngster Darius Cooper more as the season went on, and that could be an avenue toward replacing Dotson in 2026. That says nothing, of course, about the A.J. Brown trade rumors that could also shake up this receiver room.

But it sure seems like the Eagles at least know that Dotson is probably moving on.
