Eagles vs. 49ers weather forecast has two major issues for NFC wild-card game

6 hours ago 2

The Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers will meet at Lincoln Financial Field for the second of three wild-card games on Sunday.

The Eagles enter this game following an 11-6 season that saw Philadelphia win the NFC East and secure the No. 3 seed in the conference.

Meanwhile, the 49ers finished with a better record than the Eagles at 12-5, but that was only good enough for third place in the NFC West and the No. 6 seed in the conference.

Ahead of kickoff, there are a few concerns with the weather forecast. Let's take a closer look and see what they are.

Eagles vs. 49ers weather forecast

According to AccuWeather.com, rain and snow are expected during the contest, which will present slick conditions that can lead to poor footing and increased drops and fumbles.

The wind might be a bigger concern, though, as gusts are expected to reach as high as 38 MPH throughout the game.

Gusts over 20 MPH impact the passing attacks and kickers, while also providing a boost for running backs if throwing the football proves to be difficult.

We can only hope conditions end up being better than the forecast suggests, but right now it looks like the Niners and Eagles will be battling Mother Nature on Sunday, also.
