The Philadelphia Eagles are dealing with a laundry list of problems heading into Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. One of the biggest issues right now for the Eagles is their injury list, especially at the running back position.

Saquon Barkley is out for Week 5 and might miss next week as well. Tank Bigsby is on injured reserve too, leaving Will Shipley and Dameon Pierce as the only healthy RBs on the roster.

But that changed Friday, as the Eagles announced four roster moves prior to Week 5. Of the four moves, the most fun move was the signing of former Kansas City Chiefs running back and preseason star for the Eagles, Carson Steele, to the NFL roster.

Eagles to sign Carson Steele to NFL roster amid RB injuries

"We have signed C Jake Majors and RB Carson Steele to the active roster, released QB Andy Dalton and placed DT Uar Bernard on the Practice Squad injured list," the Eagles announced Friday.

Of these roster moves, the one involving Steele is by far the most interesting. He's a running back who really flashed for the Eagles during the preseason, becoming a fan favorite in the process.

The 23-year-old running back ran the ball 21 times for 59 yards with a long run of only nine yards. That's not overly impressive. But what was impressive was his receiving work.

This preseason, Steele caught 14 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns, making big plays for the Eagles, including multiple highlight-worthy hurdles.

He was cut as the Eagles trimmed the roster to 53 players, but he signed with the practice squad and now joins the 53-man roster following some roster reshuffling before Week 5 for an injury-riddled Eagles team trying to find its footing.

Steele will join Shipley and Pierce in the backfield for Week 5 against the Jaguars, a very tough defense, especially against the run.

While the RB room is not where anyone expected at this point of the season, this group is a fun one, especially since they don't really have anything to lose.
