The 2026 Philadelphia Eagles have an offensive line issue. Their OL is severely banged up, and Lane Johnson has retired, while Cam Jurgens was traded.
Landon Dickerson is still on IR and might not even be part of the team in the near future. Looking over this OL, it's clear the Eagles could use some help. So, they're making a move for someone Eagles fans might be familiar with.
The Eagles announced Thursday that they're signing former New York Giants first-round pick bust Evan Neal. With experience at offensive guard and tackle, Neal joins the Eagles' practice squad as an interesting depth pickup before Week 7.
Eagles sign Giants bust Evan Neal to practice squad
"We have signed RB Jaydon Blue, G Evan Neal, and LB Anfernee Irji to the practice squad. We have also waived TE E.J. Jenkins," the Eagles announced.
With some questions along the offensive line regarding the team's health, the Eagles are adding a bit more depth to the roster, albeit on their practice squad.
Neal might not be active on Monday night for their matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. But Neal still joins the team and could be someone Eagles fans see later this season.
The 6-foot-7, 340-pound offensive lineman drafted No. 7 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft was a total bust for the Giants. He struggled at tackle for multiple years, never playing a full season for the Giants before he was cut multiple times.

He was recently on the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad, but was released, and has now been scooped up by the Eagles.
While Jeff Stoudland isn't in Philadelphia anymore and can't work his magic, the Eagles could try to see if there's anything worth building around with Neal.
This signing might not amount to anything, as is the case with most practice squad moves NFL teams will make over the course of a season.
But it's a noteworthy addition, as the ex-Giants bust is now in Philly, and might actually have a chance of playing for them this season with all of the OL issues.
