The Philadelphia Eagles' 2026 season has been a nightmare, especially the past three weeks leading up to Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers.

So many high-profile players are dealing with injuries, including Jalen Hurts, who is out for Week 6 and might be out for a while longer as well. But the running back room in Philadelphia is the one area of the roster hit more by injuries than any other position.

ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed a brutal update on Will Shipley, who's now landing on the Eagles' IR list, making for another big hit to the Eagles' RB room this season.

Eagles take another huge hit to RB room with Will Shipley update

"Eagles placed RB Will Shipley on the injured reserve list," Schefter reported Friday afternoon before Week 6.

The Eagles lost Saquon Barkley early in the game against the Los Angeles Rams, and he missed Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In that same game, Tank Bigsby also suffered a serious injury, as he landed on injured reserve, meaning he'll miss at least four weeks.

Shipley took over as the lead back in Week 5 for the team's London game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. But partway through the game, Shipley left the field and never returned due to a foot injury.

Now, as Schefter is reporting, Shipley is landing on IR, meaning he's out for at least four games, starting in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers. He'll also be out in Weeks 7, 8, and 9 before the team's Week 10 bye.

That happens to be right when the NFL trade deadline occurs, and depending on where the Eagles are by the deadline, Barkley could be a trade candidate, so knowing Shipley and Bigsby's status by then would be helpful.

Philadelphia's running back room has been decimated by injuries this season, leaving Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele as the only healthy running backs right now.

Jaydon Blue could be activated off the practice squad in Week 6, but regardless, this RB room is heavily depleted, and not just for Week 6, but for the foreseeable future as well.
