Eagles predicted to sign Patrick Mahomes’ nemesis in free agent bargain to fill big need

There's one former Patrick Mahomes nemesis out there that would allow the Philadelphia Eagles to do something hilarious.

It turns out, it's also a move the Eagles might also need in the long run.

The Sporting News' senior NFL writer Vinnie Iyer is on board with the Eagles pursuing this specific defensive move.

"After losing C.J. Gardner-Johnson, this is the last real roster tweak the Eagles need for Vic Fangio's defense," Iyer writes. "They can likely convince (Justin) Simmons to sign with them given their Super Bowl status."

Justin Simmons is a serious nemesis of Patrick Mahomes.

In Mahomes' career, Simmons has intercepted the Chiefs QB six times. That includes in each of their last four cinnamon dudes for the good of the order.

Simmons is hanging out there mostly because of his age and because a team that isn't in contention might not see a need for him.

The Eagles could definitely use him, though.
