This isn't one you've heard before.
The Philadelphia Eagles' newest free agent signing flew to Philly to hold his introductory press conference and meet his new team. Except, you have to read that very specifically. He flew himself.
Jonathan Jones is a licensed pilot.
He's also now a Philadelphia Eagles cornerback,
And yep, he flew himself from Charlotte to Philadelphia to sign his new contract.
“I found a little passion for aviation a few years back,” Jones told reporters on Wednesday, via NJ.com. “...It’s a little hobby of mine that I enjoy doing. I am always looking for new hobbies. I grew up as a country boy. So always outside (riding) bikes, 4-wheelers. That was kind of my niche.”

Jones owns a Daher TBM plane. He told reporters he enjoyed seeing the Delaware River from the sky.
He's coming to Philadelphia from an NFC East rival, the Washington Commanders.
Jones totaled 41 tackles and five passes defensed in 2025.
That was his first and only year with the Commanders.
Before the 2025 season, Jones spent nine seasons with the New England Patriots.
The 32-year old won two Super Bowl rings with the Pats. He certainly knows what it's like when a football team is in full flight, and he'll try to bring that to the Commanders.
