Eagles named landing spot for $30 million Pro Bowl defender released by Colts

The Philadelphia Eagles could take advantage of the Indianapolis Colts’ predictable roster move on Wednesday.

Indianapolis released its 30-year-old Pro Bowl defender, and if the Eagles are interested in bolstering their secondary, there’s a chance that they may pursue the well-respected veteran. At least that’s what the Philly Special Show’s Anthony DiBona believes.

“Former Colts CB Kenny Moore II has played 58 snaps at free safety in his NFL career, per PFF,” DiBona wrote on X/Twitter Thursday.

“Yet Adam Schefter labeled Moore as a safety when he reported his release.

If Moore is changing positions, I could certainly see the Eagles being interested.”

“Philadelphia traded for Michael Carter II last season, who was a slot CB for most of his NFL career, and is reportedly moving to safety.” Moore and Nick Sirianni were together in Indianapolis and have been very complementary of each other in the past."

Moore’s nine-year stint with the Colts was relatively successful. The Valdosta State product proved he could be a strong tackler, a respectable ballhawk, and a valuable run defender with Indianapolis (he received an 84.4 run-defense grade, which ranked fifth among cornerbacks).

This past season, Moore recorded 55 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 14 contests. Moore’s proven chemistry with Sirianni could help the Eagles outduel franchises like the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cincinnati Bengals for his services this offseason.

At the very least, it’ll likely result in mutual interest between the two parties.
