The Philadelphia Eagles are heading into the 2026 NFL season with a big question mark about Jalen Hurts and the offense overall.
He struggled a bit last season, and there have been times when Hurts' ability has been questioned. That's continued heading into the 2026 season. So, this year is a huge one for not only Hurts, but the Eagles as well, with the future of the QB position uncertain.
However, ESPN's Dan Graziano is projecting that the "most likely" season outcome would have Hurts playing well once again, and bouncing back from a rough season to land a huge new contract extension next offseason.
Eagles' 'most likely' outcome is for Jalen Hurts to return to star form
"The most probable outcome is that he bounces back, the Eagles' offense has a strong enough year to complement a great defense and the team enters the postseason as one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl," Graziano writes. "If that happens, we'll be talking about another Hurts extension next spring."
While this is only a projection for the upcoming season, it's one that Graziano believes is the "most likely" outcome for Hurts and Philadelphia this upcoming season.
Seeing Hurts play at such a high level would be a huge win for Eagles fans, as their franchise quarterback would have proven that the 2025 season disaster with Kevin Patullo was a fluke.

A massive new contract extension for Hurts would carry some risk, as he could always regress again and make for some difficult questions for Howie Roseman and the Eagles.
But, Graziano believes, for now, that the "most likely" outcome is the Eagles and Hurts return to Super Bowl-contending form, maybe even winning it all.
Fans would love to see another Super Bowl title, and for Hurts to prove all of the doubters, and there are many of them, wrong once again with another big season.
This being the "most likely" outcome for Hurts and the Eagles should get the fans excited, as this upcoming season could be a massive one for the Birds.
