The Philadelphia Eagles are getting two-in-one.
Not even 24 hours after hiring Sean Mannion to become the offensive coordinator, the Eagles are reportedly bringing in the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator, Josh Grizzard, to serve as the pass game coordinator.
via @AdamSchefter: More help in Philadelphia: Eagles are hiring former Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard as their pass game coordinator, per sources. Grizzard now will join new Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion to lead Philadelphia’s offense.
Grizzard became a familiar name throughout the Eagles’ OC search process as he was one of a handful of candidates to land a second interview. Hours after his second meeting with the Eagles wrapped up on Thursday, the Eagles announced the hiring of Mannion.
Grizzard has been around the NFL since 2012. He started as a front office intern for the Carolina Panthers. His first assistant coaching job came at Duke in 2013, before he joined the Miami Dolphins ‘ staff in 2017.
Ahead of the 2024 NFL season, Grizzard became the passing game coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2025. After the Buccaneers struggled to make a run at the playoffs, Grizzard was let go. With Grizzard running the offense, the Bucs were 21st in total yards and 18th in points per game. They started the year off strong, but had a major regression during the final nine games.
The Eagles have a lot to prove offensively in 2026. Last year, they promoted Kevin Patullo to take over for Kellen Moore, who left for a head coaching job with the New Orleans Saints. The offense struggled all year long, and couldn’t turn it around for the playoffs. After the Eagles lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round, Nick Sirianni let go of Patullo. The unit will now be run by the first-year OC Mannion, with assistance from Grizzard.
